Each
week we will consult our group of experts from the NASCAR
media and let the racing fans know who is number one in NASCAR
racing. Our little experiment is in its fourth season and
once again we have an impressive group of voters. Join us
every week to see who is leading the RaceTalkRadio.com NASCAR
Top 20.
Weekly
Spotlight: Forecasting the Chase
Each
week we will look inside the numbers to analyze voting trends
from our panel of experts. This week for our pre-season spotlight
we will look at which drivers received the most votes to make
the Chase. While some of the leaders are no surprise there
were a few selections that might surprise you a bit.
100% of
the Vote: Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, Mark Martin and Kyle
Busch were the only four drivers that were unanimous picks
for the top 12.
90% of
the Vote: Jeff Gordon
80% of
the Vote: Carl Edwards and Kurt Busch
70% of
the Vote: Juan Pablo Montoya and Denny Hamlin
60% of
the Vote: Matt Kenseth
50% of
the Vote: Greg Biffle
40% of
the Vote: Ryan Newman and Kasey Kahne
30% of
the Vote: Clint Bowyer, Dale Earnhardt Jr and Kevin Harvick
20% of
the Vote: Jeff Burton and Joey Logano
10% of
the Vote: Brian Vickers, AJ Allmendinger and Marcos Ambrose
Twenty-one
different drivers were named by our panel of experts. Ten
drivers earned 60% or more of the votes showing just how wide
open the Chase field is for those final spots this season.
Two drivers that missed the Chase last year placed in the
top ten in vote getters this year.
